In 2022 Mast group Ltd started a project aiming to deliver a tool that could be used to help with opening and closing the OC-Sensor FIT bottle.

The bottle is well designed, with flat sides and a twist lid which is easier to use than a twist cap, however it was identified that for some patient groups more could be done to make handling the bottles easier.

We aimed to improve patient experience and support independent, dignified FIT testing.

In 2024 the FIT aid was introduced into the English Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and in 2025 a version for symptomatic FIT testing was created.
